Features

Everything your paper logbook does — and everything it can’t

The Pilot Log is an online pilot logbook built around the format pilots trust. Fill in the next line, tap Validate, and a fresh line is ready for your next flight. When a page is full, a new one begins — just like paper.

The layout you already know

Same columns, same order, same totals as the classic EASA / Jeppesen-style paper logbook. Nothing to relearn — just no more pencil.

Made for your phone

Log a flight in seconds after shutdown. Big buttons, smart time entry and an app-like experience on iPhone and Android.

Totals that add up themselves

Total this page, total from previous pages and total time are calculated on every page — including the hours you bring from your old logbook.

Automatic night time

Night minutes and day/night take-offs and landings are computed from your route, times and civil twilight. You can always override them.

Sign every page

Sign completed pages with your finger. A signed page is locked and sealed with a fingerprint (SHA-256) so nobody can alter it afterwards.

Stamped by your airline or school

Airlines, aviation authorities, training departments and flight schools sign and stamp your pages — online through a secure link, or in person on your phone.

Instructor & examiner endorsements

Your instructor or examiner signs a single line in “Remarks and endorsements”, with name and licence number. The line is locked once signed.

Export to PDF

Print-ready PDF in the paper layout, with signatures — for your authority, an airline interview or your own archive. CSV and JSON too.

Flight statistics

Hours per month, by aircraft and by function, 28-day / 90-day / 12-month limits and take-off & landing recency at a glance.

Your world map

Every route you have flown drawn on a world map, with the airports and countries you have visited.

Encrypted & backed up daily

Your logbook is encrypted before it is stored, every change is kept in a history and the system is backed up every day, off-site.

Works without signal

Log a flight on the apron or at a remote airfield: it is kept on your phone and synced as soon as you are back online.

New · Logbook stamps

Pages signed and stamped by your airline, authority or flight school

Some airlines ask for logbook pages certified by a previous employer, a training organisation or an aviation authority. With The Pilot Log you no longer hand over your logbook or post photocopies to be stamped.

  • Send a secure link. The organisation sees only the pages you choose, read-only, and signs and stamps them online — no account needed.
  • Or stamp in person on your phone or tablet, at the crew room or the school’s office.
  • Sealed to the page. Each stamp keeps a SHA-256 fingerprint of the page it certifies: if the page changes, the stamp no longer applies.
  • Verifiable by anyone. Every stamp is printed on your PDF with a code to check at thepilotlog.com/verify.
How it works

From paper to digital in an afternoon

Create your logbook

Sign up, choose a plan and open your logbook on your phone. Add it to your home screen to use it like an app.

Bring your experience

Enter the totals from your paper logbook once, or import past flights from a CSV/Excel file. Your totals carry forward on every page.

Log, sign, export

Log each flight in seconds, sign completed pages, have them stamped by your airline or school, and export a PDF whenever an authority, operator or examiner asks for it.

Safety first

Your hours are your career. We treat them that way.

Losing a logbook means losing proof of years of flying. The Pilot Log is engineered so that does not happen.

  • Every flight is encrypted (XChaCha20-Poly1305) before it is written to the database.
  • Every edit and deletion is kept in a version history — nothing is ever silently overwritten.
  • Encrypted backups every day, verified after creation and copied off-site.
  • Download your complete logbook as PDF, CSV or JSON at any time — it is always yours.

FAQ

Questions pilots ask us

Is a digital logbook accepted under EASA rules?

EASA Part-FCL (FCL.050) defines what you must record, not the medium. Many pilots keep electronic records and present a printed, signed copy when their authority asks for it. The Pilot Log produces exactly that: a PDF in the classic logbook layout with each page signed. Always check with your own authority for licence applications.

Can my airline, authority or flight school stamp my logbook pages?

Yes. Some airlines ask for logbook pages signed and stamped by a previous employer, a training organisation or an authority. Under any page you have signed, send the organisation a secure link — it sees only those pages and signs and stamps them online, without an account — or let it stamp them in person on your phone. Each stamp is printed on your PDF with a code anyone can check at thepilotlog.com/verify, and it only applies while the page stays unchanged.

Does it look like my paper Jeppesen logbook?

Yes. Every page has the same columns in the same order — date, departure, arrival, aircraft, single-pilot and multi-pilot time, total time, PIC name, take-offs and landings, night and IFR, pilot function time, simulator sessions and remarks — with “total this page”, “total from previous pages” and “total time” at the bottom.

Can I bring the hours from my old paper logbook?

Yes. Enter your carried-forward totals once and every page will include them, just like writing them at the top of a new paper logbook. You can also import flights from a CSV/Excel file.

Does it work on my phone?

The Pilot Log was designed for phones first. Add it to your home screen and it behaves like an app — on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers.

How safe is my data?

All your logbook data is encrypted before it reaches the database, every change is kept in a history, and the whole system is backed up every day to encrypted off-site storage. You can download your complete logbook as PDF, CSV or JSON at any time.

Is it a subscription?

No. The Pilot Log costs €9.99 once — a single payment for lifetime access to every feature and unlimited flights. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Choose the free trial when you create your account: no card is needed and nothing is charged automatically. You can fill one logbook page to try every feature; afterwards your logbook stays readable and exportable, and the one-time payment unlocks unlimited logging.

Can I take my data with me?

Always. Your logbook belongs to you: export it as PDF, CSV or JSON whenever you want. It is never deleted unless you close your account yourself.
